new character actress's

Hey, sorry for such a long absence, but we've been really busy. So I apologize and we'll try to stay more current. But, we are up to our 14th book, so like I said, we've been busy.

We've got some new actress's playing the part of our characters.

This is Anna. She's my niece. She's playing the part of Detective Sharon Stone. She's twenty-five and she's as smart as they come. She's funny and just down right adorable. Don't you agree?

See all 5 photos

And we've added a new Kelly too. Now, before you guys all start getting worked up over nothing, our new Kelly hasn't shot any pictures yet. Not for us anyways. So all i have is some pictures of the 5'6" beauty is in a bikini. and I know you don't want to see those.

So maybe as soon as she takes some... I'll post them here. What? You say you do want to see her in her bikini? But, there's not much there... on in the bikini department anyways. But, I'll tell you this... Sherri is Kelly. Right down to the beautiful blue eyes and the long blond hair.

This is Sherri. That's her real life dad standing next to her. As you can guess, it's a little bit more than obvious as to why i wouldn't want to post her bikini pictures here. Besides, and i know this is going to hurt... but, she's married and even has a 13year old son.

Oh what the hell. but, you can't say that i didn't warn you.

See I tried to warn you. Isn't she something. But, just wait until we get her in front of our camera. Wait until we put a gun in her hand and introduce her some really nasty bad guys. Then we'll see her in a completely different way.

Okay enough with the girlie pictures... for now.

We've recently finished our 13th book. The 14th is almost done but, I'll explain that when it is. So back to number 13. BRIMSTONE is my first attempt at writing a thriller. Well, okay, it may not be my first, but, it's definitely my best.

This is the temporary cover for BRIMSTONE.

And this is the synopsis for the book. You're going to love this. Maybe not as much as the hot pictures of our models... but, i think you'll like it in a different sort of way.

When the young Tyler Scott, first heard of his uncle’s death, he didn’t even think twice about it. Why should he. He never even knew his mother’s brother, even before her untimely death. He’d never met or even talked to his uncle before, and now… Uncle Marcus was dead.
Uncle Marcus, was once, a one time big time movie producer, back in the golden years of Hollywood. Back in the days of Garbo, Cagney, Tracy and Bogart, Marcus Grant was a big time player, in the game called Hollywood. His studio, MG Studios, ranked right up there with all of the other big time studios of that by gone era. Then everything changed, in the summer of 48, when a fire swept through sound stage number five, killing the studio’s leading lady, Devlin Miles. That’s when everything started falling apart. The mystery behind that fire, has always been clouded in speculation and wild actuations. Even so, when all of the smoke finally cleared, Devlin Miles was dead and Marcus Grant’s prized possession, MG Studios, was history. To be written down in the annuals of Hollywood as what once was and what could have been.
Marcus would try to make a come back, some years later. His famed studio, was now called Brimstone. The new studio, under Marcus’s guidance, produced four full length horror classics. But, Hollywood wasn’t buying, nor was anyone else. It would seem that these horror movies, were just too damn real, not to be real. In the end, the movies were never released and Brimstone closed it doors once again. This time for ever.
So when Tyler Scott learned that his late Uncle Marcus had left his entire estate to him, he was a little bit more than thrilled. The studio itself, almost thirty-five thousand acres of plush rolling California hills, the huge house and Marcus’s prized car, a Dusenberg… was suddenly all his.
However, from the very first day, it is more than apparent that something evil, is lurking around the huge Hollywood estate. Tyler’s girlfriend Monica sensed it, just like everyone else did. Even Tyler himself, felt it. But, for Tyler he had no choice in the matter. He wouldn’t leave. He couldn’t. This was his late uncle’s legacy and he was determined to get to the truth of the matter.

But, the truth behind the mystery of Brimstone was even more sadistic and bizarre than any of them could have ever dreamed of. Tales of demon worshipping and a supposed pact that Marcus had made with the devil himself, all started adding up to one strange tale.
Soundstages, that supposedly hadn’t been used in almost sixty years are still spotless. Just like they were on the day they stopped shooting movies there. The huge house is still spotless as well. There isn’t a speck of dust anywhere. The winds, that are known to blow across Southern California, aren’t felt anywhere on the entire estate. Instead, the air is still and almost stale, with no movement at all. The grounds of the huge estate are trimmed and manicured, and yet… there are no ground keepers anywhere to be seen. Every inch of the Brimstone estate, seems to be trapped in the year 1948.
In an effort to save their friend, Tyler’s friends start researching the late Marcus Grant and the strange but, somewhat brief history of Brimstone itself. However, as the facts start to become unraveled, they find themselves in a fight for not only their friend’s life but, for their own as well.
Devlin and Marcus were more than just friends. They were lovers. In a love story that was torn right out of some romantic novel, their love still lingers through the halls and grounds of Brimstone. With each passing hour, Tyler is slowly turning into his late uncle. Marcus, who appears to have completely taken over his nephew’s body, is bound and determined to be reunited, with the love of his life. No matter what it takes. Huge demonic creatures, taken directly from those four Brimstone horror classics, start roaming the grounds, as they go about acting out, some very real, very deadly reenactments of those horrible life and death battles of those unreleased classics.
Now only one thing is for certain…
Tyler’s friends must save him… or all of them will die in the process. It’s the ultimate fight between good and evil, where there are no survivors. Is this Hollywood, back in the day, or is this Hell. Where Evil awaits each new visitor to this studio… named BRIMSTONE.
Where promises are broken…Hearts are shattered … and a person’s soul… is up for grabs.

Pretty cool huh? BRIMSTONE would make for one hell of a movie... wouldn't it.

Well so would DEMON DOGS. Which just happens to be the first book in THE DUGAN CHRONICLES series. This is where Matt and Kelly meet for the very first time. What you're about to read is an excerpt from this book. This is where Matt comes to Kelly's recuse... once again. Well, since it's book one, I guess it would in fact be the first time. Hope you enjoy it.

Off To Catch Drifter…

Matt knew that he had no time to waste. Kelly’s life depended on him getting to her as soon as he could. He had to figure that Brick would most likely toss her overboard just as soon as he could. If that happened and he wasn’t there to save her… Kelly would soon become nothing more then another statistic in the never ending journals of crimes in the city. That couldn’t be allowed to happen. But first he had to find his way out of this dang warehouse.
Simon on the other hand, found Alex relatively easily. She was sitting on an old table smiling like a crème fed cat when he found her. A short distance away, Gem laid motionless on her stomach with her hands cuffed behind her back. Simon took one look at her and smiled at her.
“So … is she dead or not?”
“Oh I always cuff the dead ones… I feel safer doing that then not. But no she isn’t dead. I wanted to…I really did but I remembered what you told me so I just arrested her instead.
“Of course that was after you kicked the shit out of her, right?”
“Hey… she took the first swing. And besides, I can still feel a few of her well placed punches too you know. It wasn’t just me kicking her ass. Well not completely anyways.”
“So you’ve got this out of your system now. I mean we can get back to business as usual now?”
“Yeah, I’m not sure what you would consider usual but yeah I think so. So were you able to get Victor Vance?”
“Well let’s just say that Victor Vance is going to be a problem any longer and leave it at that.” he told her as he tilted her head back so he could see her face, under the very limited light of that warehouse.” She did get in a few placed punches didn’t she?”
“Yeah, a few I suppose. So tell me, were you able to find what’s her name? You know that missing cop?”
“No unfortunately not. But Matt is hot on her trail and I’m pretty sure that he’ll find her alright.”
“You like that guy Matt don’t you. It seemed to me that you two hit it off pretty good from what I could see.”
“Matt is surely one hard act to follow that’s for sure. But he’s got one hell of job in front of him, and while his crew might just be some of the best cops that I’ve ever seen, I wouldn’t trade jobs with him for nothing. “
“What makes his job so much different then ours?” Alex asked him as she stood up and started putting all of her gear back on.
“Matt has to deal with the rules and restrictions of working in the city. This city, the city of Los Angeles. It’s just too damn much for one crew to handle. Oh make no mistakes about it he’s good alright, but still you have to wonder what makes him show up for work each and every morning. You know what I mean? it’s just too damn much to deal with.”
“Well Simon did you ever think for one instant that he’s a lot like you?”
“Like me? Me and Mathew Dugan of the LAPD, are not anything alike. I don’t care how you look at it.”
“Yeah you are. You and Matt are both driven to be the best. You both care about people and you both love what you do. That’s why he goes to work every day. The same reason that you do Simon. You have to be out there doing whatever you need to do to get the job done. Just like Matt. Oh yeah you’re two of a kind alright. But there is something else that you two have in common that you haven’t even thought about yet.”
“Oh really… and what is it that I seemed to have missed somewhere along the way Alex?”
“Well I haven’t met her yet, but I did see a picture of her and this Kelly gal that Matt is going to save, is one good looking lady. So there you have it. You both have a hot looking lady at your side. Which isn’t a bad thing considering just how good we make you guys look. Now isn’t that right?”
“You make us look good? I always thought that it was the other way around and we made you look better.”
Alex started laughing.
“See just like I said. You and Matt are two of a kind. That’s for sure.”
“Maybe so. But what do you say about us dragging your suspect to her feet and getting the hell out of here?”
“Nothing I’d like better.”

It had taken Matt almost five full minutes to find his way back outside. That was five minutes that he had to try to make up somewhere along the way. Five minutes that could make the difference between Kelly living or dying. He floored the accelerator of his car to the floor as he started zipping in and out of traffic. He had Brian and Mike setting things up for him so everything would be there when he got to the marina. Brian was going to notify the Coast Guard about the possibility that Brick would head out to the open sea with Kelly still on board. While Brian was doing that, Mike was getting in contact with the Harbor Patrol to rendezvous with Matt once he got to the Marina. Matt had thought about catching a ride with the LAPD helicopter, but then he realized that he wasn’t that far away from the marina to begin with. He should be able to make better time on the ground in his own car. Which was exactly what he was doing. Making time. He just hoped no poor bastard decided to pull in front of him. ’Cause at eighty-five miles an hour, it would be one hell of a wreck.
Matt’s assumption about Brick taking Kelly out on Drifter was confirmed when a black and white patrol officer responded to a shots fired call at the marina. The first responding officer had discovered a 187 victim at that location. The deceased had been identified as one Charles Chapman of El Segundo. He was the legal owner of the boat named Drifter. His nickname and the name that everyone at the marina knew him by was “Chappy”. Drifter wasn’t in her berth either. That had Matt worried.
He’d gotten too much of a head start… we’ll never be able to find that damn boat that quick, let alone catch up to it. We need some help. We need some eyes in the sky.
Matt’s Crown Vic bounced it’s way into the Twenty-Second Street Marina with the grace of a drunken sailor. Then Matt realized that he had actually missed the drive way by a good ten feet. As the black Ford tore it’s way through the flower bed, Matt was concentrating on getting on board the Harbor Patrol’s boat just as soon as possible. To his surprise the Harbor Patrol was at the dock waiting for him. As the Crown Vic skidded to a stop Matt was out and running before the car had come to a complete stop.
Running down the gangplank towards the waiting boat, Matt yelled for them to cast off. He jumped from the dock and barely made the rear transom of the boat that was now getting under way.
Matt ran up to the bridge and asked the Captain to call the Coast Guard and request their helicopter to assist them in a hostage situation at sea. The Captain did just that, but he also sent out a message asking any ship that had seen the boat Drifter to report it’s last known location speed and direction. Matt walked back outside to watch the horizon for himself. He’d been out there for only a few minutes when he heard the faint whisper of a helicopter coming in from behind them.
“Wow… that was quick. I guess the Coast Guard doesn’t screw around.” he thought quietly to himself. But as the helicopter flew by him he saw something that made him smile even more. Four large black letters right there on the side of that big beautiful helicopter. The letters were LAPD.
Go find her boys… Damn I love those guys!
Matt turned to see a guy walking out to him.
“Mr. Dugan sir… the Captain told me to tell you that we know where she’s at, the boat sir. She’s about ten miles in front of us sir.”
“Ten miles? Is that far?”
The guy just gave him a weird look.
“Ten miles is ten miles sir. But don’t worry, this little tug hauls ass, that old trawler doesn’t. We’ll catch up to her in no time.”
The guy responded as he pulled a pack of cigarettes from his pocket and lit one.
“Can I get one of those from you?”
The guy just gave Matt another weird look.
“Well sure Mr. Dugan sir.” the guy said as he handed him the pack. Matt took one from the pack and handed it back to the guy.
“Got a light?”
“You don’t smoke much do you?” the guy asked him.
“Tonight I do. Now about that light?”
As Matt and his newly found friend stood on the bow of that Harbor Patrol patrol boat, Matt watched in amazement as two bright orange helicopters flew past them. The Coast guard had arrived. Not only had the Coast Guard sent out two of their helicopters but they had also dispatched to of their high speed pursuit boats as well to join in the chase. One of them came in from the right as the other one came in from the left.
Brick had no idea just how many people were chasing his worthless ass. But he’d know soon enough Matt figured.
“There she is Mr. Dugan sir… that’s Drifter. Looks like the helicopters are putting the fear of God into him. But I don’t think Drifter is planning on stopping. Do you?”
“I wouldn’t if I were him…” Matt answered with a slight smile.
Just then the guy looked back at the wheel house and noticed that the Captain was trying to get Matt’s attention.
“Mr. Dugan sir… the Captain wants to see you.”
Matt turned and looked back at the wheel house.
“Okay thanks…” Matt said as he made his way back to the wheel house where the Captain was at. Which wasn’t the easiest thing to, considering how the twenty-eight foot patrol boat was jumping from one wave to the next. Matt damn near lost his footing as the boat bounced into the air, after smashing a fairly decent sized wave.
“What’s up?’ Matt asked him.
“It would appear Drifter is turning around. It’s not a real drastic turn but she’s definitely turning alright?”
“Turning? Where in the hell is he headed?”
“Right back to port of he doesn’t change anything. Or I guess he could be going around in circles too. But that doesn‘t make any sense either.”
Back on Drifter, Brick knew exactly what he was doing, and he wasn’t headed back to port either. Now considering just how many people were chasing him, he knew that he wasn’t going to escape. He also knew that he couldn’t handle going back to jail again either.
Okay… So you guys want to chase me…let’s see just how dedicated you guys really are. Brick said as he turned the rudder of Drifter straight again.
Hell I think it might be about time to get rid of some unnecessary cargo too. He quietly told himself as he glanced back at Kelly’s lifeless body as it lay there on the deck of Drifter.
However, Kelly wasn’t dead, not by a long shot. She was wide awake and had been ever since she’d been man handled onto the boat. What she didn’t have was any energy. She was completely exhausted and her entire body hurt like nothing she had ever felt before. Especially her face. Gem had certainly done one hell of job on her that was for sure. Kelly didn’t even want to know what her face looked like after that kind of beating.
However the hardest thing that she had ever endured was the groping of her body by the hands of Brick. He’d dropped her to the deck as he brought her on board. That was what brought her around. She not only heard the boat’s motor as it came to life, but she felt it too. Considering the engine room was somewhere right below, that only made sense. But shortly after they had cleared the dock, which she’d been able to tell, by the sound of the motor as it accelerated. That’s when Brick had left the controls of Drifter and decided to do a little exploring of his own. She had to act like she was still unconscious in hopes that he might be dumb enough to take off the damn handcuffs. He hadn’t. But he did spend what she thought was an eternity, exploring damn near every inch of her body. He’d rolled her over and played with her ass, and then he’d roll her back over and did a very thorough job of touching her most private parts of her anatomy. She fought the urge to kick out in anger at his touch. Had he tried to rape her, things would have changed drastically rather quickly. But he hadn’t. Even so, he had done one thing that all by itself made her current predicament even worse. When he’d finished, he’d wrapped a plastic zip tie around her ankles and pulled it tight. Her legs were completely useless. But worse then that, she knew without a doubt what he was planning on doing to her. Now maybe she might not be in a bikini like those other girls had been, but she was fairly certain that, sooner or later. she too was about to be dropped into the water.
Matt was standing in the wheel house, listening to the radio traffic between the three helicopters and the boats. They too had noticed that Drifter had made a slow turn back in the general direction from which it had come. But it was the Captain of that smaller Harbor patrol boat that had been smart enough to project Drifter’s current path and why laid ahead of it.
“Oh my God, he’s going to hit it.” the captain said out loud.
Matt looked down at the screen on the console that showed where every one was, including any and all of the surrounding traffic.
“What are you talking about? Who’s going to hit what?”
“Drifter. According to this… he’s headed right at Angel’s Gate.”
“Excuse me, but what in the hell is Angel’s Gate?” Matt asked him.
“The lighthouse! He’s on a collision course with the Angel’s Gate Lighthouse.”
Matt just looked at him… in disbelief.
“You have to be kidding me.”
“I wish I was, but here’s his path, “ the Captain said as he pointed to the monitor.” You can see where he was turning and then adjusted his course to line up with the damn lighthouse.”
“Son of bitch. He has to know that’s there no escape, and now he’s going to end this by crashing Drifter into the damn light house. Son of a bitch.” Matt said as he looked up at the radio hanging just above the Captain’s head. “Can I talk to our helicopter on that thing?”
“Well yeah I guess… so. Give me a second to dial it in first. Just what in the hell are you planning on doing Matt? If you don’t mind me asking?”
“I don’t have the slightest idea. But Kelly’s on that boat and she isn’t going down like that. That I can promise you. Can’t this piece of shit go any faster?”
“Sorry Matt, this is everything she’s got. She ain’t no speed boat ya know.” The Captain said as he handed Matt the microphone for the radio. Matt could hear the chatter that was going on between the LAPD copter and the two Coast Guard units.
Matt raised the mic to his mouth. He had no idea as to what he was about to say.
“This is Matt Dugan … of the LAPD, who’s that flying our bird?” he said as he released the button on the microphone and waited for a response from the helo.
“Matt? This is Charlie. Charlie King. Where in the hell are you?”
“Charlie, I’m on the Harbor Patrol’s boat, coming up on Drifter’s stern. Look we have to stop that boat. He’s on a collision course with the light house.”
“Holy shit… you’re right. He’s less then a mile away from it.”
“Exactly. Now tell me what you see when you look down at that boat. Can you see my officer anywhere?”
“Well it’s not like we can light the son of bitch up Matt. Every time we hit him with the light, he starts shooting at us. But I do know that there appears to be a woman on board. She’s lying on the deck, but we haven’t seen her move at all. Is that your officer?”
“That’s Kelly Moore. She’s one of ours. Now I don’t care what you do or how you do it, just stop that fucking boat.”
“How do you expect us to do that Matt. If we fire back at him, there’s a real good chance that we might hit her. We sure in the hell don’t want that. Do we?”
“No of course not. Damn there has to be a way of stopping it.”
“This is the Coast Guard helicopter, Delta Tango, can I offer some assistance here Mr. Dugan?”
“You got any ideas?” Matt asked.
“We’ve got a sharp shooter on board Mr. Dugan. There’s a real good chance that we could take the guy out even before he sees the muffle flash.”
“In the dark… you guys can do that?” Matt asked him.
“Well not exactly, but if our other copter and yours, flooded Drifter with their lights, I’m fairly certain that my guy could take him out.”
“I see, but that wouldn’t stop that boat would it. I mean it would still be on a collision course with the light house. Wouldn’t it?”
“I’m afraid so. But, at least we could drop a man onto Drifter’s deck and have a fairly good chance at stopping it that way.”
Matt stood there thinking for a few moments.
“Three quarters of a mile away and closing Matt. What ever you’re planning on doing Matt, it better happen pretty damn quick.” The Captain told him.
Matt turned and looked at him and smiled.
“Copy that Coast Guard, tell your shooter to get ready. Charlie… come get me.”
“Excuse me… but how in the hell do you expect me to do that?” Charlie asked him. “ it’s not as easy as it sounds Matt.”
“Just get your bird low enough so I can grab the skid and well hell you can probably figure out the rest for yourself.”
“And just what in the world are you thinking Matt. Are you out of your mind.”
“Just come get me. Then once they take Brick out, drop me down onto Drifter. I’ll handle the rest.”
“I can’t do that Matt… it’s against the rules.”
“Fuck the rules Charlie. That’s my girl on that boat. We don’t have the luxury of time here. Now come get me, and hope and prey the sniper doesn’t miss.”
“You’d better hope I don’t miss. I’m the one that’s going to try dropping you down on a moving target in the middle of the open ocean. There’s a lot of things that could go wrong with this stupid stunt of yours.”
“We’re running short on time here Charlie. So just shut up and do it already.”
“Roger that. Tell your captain to stop your boat. One moving target is enough to handle , let alone two of them.”
“He heard ya, our engines are off. Coast guard, tell your guy to get ready and if he gets the chance to take him out, do it. Don‘t be waiting around for us to get there. Just do it.”
“Copy that. You’re either the bravest son of bitch I’ve ever seen Mr. Dugan or the dumbest. Good luck to you sir, cause you’re certainly going to need it. “
“Yeah, you’re telling me.” Matt said as he hung up the radio and started pulling everything from his pockets.
“You really think you can pull this off Matt. I mean in the dark and all?” the Captain asked him.
“Well if not, I guess I’ll die trying.”
“Oh that’s a hell of a note to send you off with Matt. Good luck to you anyways you crazy bastard. That coast guard pilot was right about one thing you know.”
“Yeah? Which part?” Matt asked as he slipped off his jacket.
“You’re certainly going to need it.” the Captain answered with a smile.
“Yeah… no shit.”
Brick watched in stunned amazement as the one helicopter veered off in the other direction. He just smiled.
“That’s a shame boys… you having to leave and all. Cause you’re just about to miss the very best part of this shit.” Brick said as if someone was actually there to hear him.
High above… the sharp shooter was just getting into position when Brick did something that was unexpected.
He turned from the helm of Drifter and walked over to where Kelly was and leaned over and scooped her up in his arms. He walked over to the stern of Drifter and started to throw her off the back of the boat. Just as he did that the search lights from both of those Coast Guard copters lit up the deck of Drifter like it was daylight. The sharpshooter had a matter of a few seconds to dial in on his target and take the shot. There was only two shots available to him though. A lethal head shot, or a chance shot at his right shoulder. It wasn’t much of a choice. Not even for a trained professional like he was.
Brick just smiled up at the bright lights that were shining down from above. He couldn’t very well shoot at them, considering he had his hands full at the present time. As he stepped towards the rear transom of Drifter… a single shot echoed out across the open sea as Brick was thrown backward by the force of the bullet ripping into him. He’d dropped Kelly as the bullet ripped it’s way into him.
Kelly’s bound body now lay on the rear transom of Drifter. The rear transom of Drifter was only a foot and half wide at best. And with each and every jolt of Drifter smacking another wave, Kelly’s body was inching it’s way towards the waiting waters below.
Just as Matt was wrapping and locking his arms around the skid of the helicopter he’d heard the shot. As his feet left the safety of the deck below, he was a little more then afraid. Not at the fear of falling, but at the thought of what he might find waiting for him on board Drifter.
He’d learn the answer to that question, soon enough. The question that was daunting him right now was so much simpler.
What in the hell… had he been thinking? The mere thought of offering to hang by his arms, dangling from a helicopter, should have been more then enough to tell him that he was in fact out of his ever loving mind. But add into the equation, the tremendous amount of ice cold, nerve robbing, spine splitting air from the spinning rotors, and the word stupidity was soon added to the never ending list of insults, not to mention any injury that he might experience doing this stupid stunt. But then again, if by some miracle, he did manage to save Kelly, then it would all be justified. Wouldn’t it? Even as he glanced down at the darkened sea, somewhere down below him… he had one other thought shooting across his mind. Remind me to never watch the movie Jaws again. For some reason, he suddenly felt like a dangling piece of fish food, or shark bait. He thought that might be a more befitting description of himself. Especially right now.
As the deck of Drifter finally came into view, he was more relieved as he spotted Kelly lying on the back portion of the boat. Then he realized, that she appeared to be really close to falling into the water. The sudden sense of urgency seemed to wash over him like a tidal wave. Okay, maybe that was a rather bad choice of words, considering how his arms seemed to be losing their grip as they were.
Charlie, had better speed things up a bit, or gravity is going to be responsible for picking out my landing spot! he told himself as he tightened up his grip on the skid of that helicopter.
As the deck of Drifter, finally started getting closer, he started to relax a bit. Not completely, just a bit,. He wouldn’t be completely relieved until he felt the deck of Drifter under his feet. Of course when he was finally able to hold Kelly in his arms, then he would be completely relieved.
Then he saw something that seemed to change everything. As he glanced up in front of the bow of Drifter, he could make out the faint image of what he could only suspect was the Angel’s Gate Lighthouse. Time was quickly running out for him and Kelly.
The morning sun was just starting to make it’s appearance, as Matt finally touched down onto the deck of Drifter. So he touched down with a much louder thud then he had wanted to make, but that was okay. Especially since he decided to drop down the last few feet on his own. But at least he’d made it and soon this drama would be over. Well maybe and maybe not. Things don’t always work out the way you have them planned, remember.
Kelly’s eyes found his as he leaned over her. There was a sense of sparking as the looked into each other’s eyes. Matt pulled her to her feet as he tried to pull the tape from her mouth. But his fingers were still numb from hanging onto that damn helicopter. It took a few tries before he was able to get a good enough grip on the tape and pulled it from her mouth.
“You okay?” he asked her.
“A little Beaten up and sore, but I’ll survive. Nice to see you Matt, what took you so long? “
Matt just looked her.
“What? I mean it’s not that I’m not glad to see you , but… you did seem to be taking your time getting here.”
“That’s nice Kell, but you’ll have to thank me later. Right now I’ve got something that I need to take care of.” he said as he turned to leave.
“Excuse me… take these damn handcuffs off.” She yelled at him.
Matt stopped and looked back at. Then he pointed to the bow of Drifter.
“You might want to look at what we’re about to smack into before you start yelling at me”
Kelly looked towards the front of Drifter, but she couldn’t see anything. It wasn’t until she’d leaned over the side of the boat and then looked forward, before she saw what lay directly in front of them.
“Oh… my God” she said as she turned back in Matt’s direction,” Just don’t stand there… go stop this damn thing.”
But Matt was already gone.
He had left her leaning up against the stern section of Drifter, sort of propped up in the corner so to speak. as he went into the wheel house to shut Drifter’s motor off. But as he took one fast look at the control panel of the old trawler he realized that he knew absolutely nothing about boats. But, if he couldn’t kill the engine right away, at least he could steer the craft away from it’s intended target. That would be easy enough he thought as he started turning the large chrome steering wheel to the left. Just as he started turning the wheel, Drifter’s bow started turning away from the rocks of the breakwater and Angel’s Gate Lighthouse. With Drifter headed back out to the safety of the open sea, he went back to help Kelly again. Matt reached into his pocket for his handcuff key… just as he realized that he had taken everything out of his pockets back on the Harbor Patrol’s boat. Everything…including his keys.
So now Matt was left with empty pockets and an even emptier expression across his face as he stood there just in front of her… just staring at her.
“Just don’t stand there Matt. Take these damn hand cuffs off of me, why don’t you?” Kelly asked him.
“It would seem that I don’t have a key. I left everything back on the other boat.”
Kelly just stared at him. Then she slowly started laughing.
“You came to my rescue… without your keys. Are you serious?”
“Yeah, I’m afraid so. What can I say.”
Kelly, just started smiling even more.
“Oh you’re good Matt. Thank God I have one. And you’re really going to love this.”
“You’ve got a key? Well if you’ve got one, then why haven’t you…”
“Cause it’s in my bra Matt. And if you haven’t noticed, my hands won’t reach up that high.”
Matt slowly lower his gaze down to her breast.
He raised his head and returned the smile…
“In your bra… you have a hand cuff key… hidden in your bra. And you expect me to do what? Go searching for it?”
“No! why don’t you whistle and see if it jumps into your hand? Of course I want you to go find it. I mean it should still be there I think. That bastard Brick and Hector may have found it when they started …” Kelly looked up into his eyes. “ I think you get the general idea of sorts. Anyways, just feel around and see if it’s still there or not. I’d do it myself… but.”
“Hector and Brick did what?”
“Never mind I’ll tell you all about it later. Now just find the damn key will ya.”
Matt undid a few buttons of her blouse to expose her bra. He started to reach up for the right one when he stopped and looked at her.
“This is official police business you know?” he asked her jokingly.
“Just get the damn key… will ya? Stop screwing around.”

Brick wasn’t dead. The bullet had torn through his right shoulder. The force of the impact had knocked him backwards across the deck of Drifter. He’d smacked the back of his head against the far wall of the cabin, and had pretty much knocked himself out. But now he was starting to recover from it. His vision was blurry at best as his eyes first popped open. But as he laid there… fighting to recover, he’d seen a guy walk from the wheel house back towards the stern of Drifter. That guy was now standing there with that long legged bitch. He couldn’t hear what they were saying, nor did he care. Glancing upwards, he could not only see the helicopters that were hovering directly over them, but he could also sense that Drifter, for what ever reason, was still running at full speed.
Now Brick wasn’t stupid. He knew damn well that his race was almost over. There was no way that he was going to escape. Not this time. So no matter what he did, it would most likely be his last act of defiance. Whatever he decided to do now had to be something that would be worthy of a last stand. He couldn’t put up much of a fight, not with this shoulder being all shot to pieces like it was, but there was one thing that he could do. One thing that he could do, that might be worthy of such a honor. Brick looked at the two people that were standing at the stern of Drifter. He had his back to him, while she was busy watching him doing what he was doing. She wouldn’t be a problem, but this new comer to the game just might be. Brick slowly got to his feet, as he tried to be a quiet as he possibly could be. Then without warning he charged at the two people.
Matt’s hand was just about to slide under the silky material of her bra, when Kelly just happened to glance up. She saw Brick charging across the deck at them.
Kelly tried to warn Matt, but she didn’t have enough time.
“Matt watch…” was all that she managed to get out.
Brick bore into them with a vengeance. Hunkered down like a defensive line backer, Brick slammed into them just below their waists. His huge arms wrapping around their legs as he lifted them up and shoved them over the back of the boat.
Matt and Kelly both hit the water hard. Kelly getting the worse of it, since Matt had no choice but to land on top of her. Each of them were sent into a twisting twirling world of complete darkness. Each of them had their own private little battle to win, to get back to the surface. Matt made it first. As his head broke the surface, he started searching for Kelly. Kelly who was still bound at the ankles with that plastic zip tie, and the hand cuffs that held her arms behind her back, didn’t have it so easy. By the time she finally got to the surface, it was all that she could do to catch a fast breath of air before she went under again. Her bound legs kicking to keep her afloat, so Matt could find her. So anyone could find her. She knew that there were helicopters just above them. What she didn’t know was if one of them had a diver on board or not. Without knowing that, she had to put all of her faith in Matt. Matt who was somewhere in the water with her. But where?
Kelly was a fighter. But even under those circumstances, most people wouldn’t last to long. Kelly was running out of energy, and running out rather quickly.
High above them, the two Coast Guard helos did have divers on board. After all they were the Coast Guard weren’t they? That’s what they do. Rescues at sea.
“WE’VE GOT TWO, REPEAT TWO PEOPLE IN THE WATER … READY THE DIVERS.” shouted one of the Coast Guard pilots. That message was heard by everyone involved in the chase. Including one smaller and slower, Harbor Patrol boat.
“Son of a bitch.” yelled the Captain of that boat.
The divers were ready to jump into the water when someone yelled out “ABORT…ABORT, HOLD THE DIVERS”
Everyone in the three helicopters looked down at the two detectives in the water. All of them could see that Drifter was swinging around on a path to run down the two water logged detectives.
“Dear God… he’s going to run right over them…sweet Jesus.” Charlie said as he tried to hold the LAPD copter steady. He could also see that Matt was searching around for the female officer but wasn’t having much luck in his search. Charlie knew that when you’re in the water, especially the open sea, you could be less then a few feet away from someone, and never see them. Charlie switched on the external loud speaker.
“Matt… she’s right behind you, at your six.” Charlie yelled over the speaker.
Matt heard him, as he spun around and started swimming in that direction. Drifter was now in line to run over both of them.
From one of the Coast Guard birds came the signal to open fire on Drifter.
“OPEN FIRE… REPEAT OPEN FIRE. GO FOR THE ENGINES… GO FOR THE ENGINES!”
Charlie turned and looked at his fellow flight team members.
“You heard the man…open fire.”
His team members did just that. They let loose with everything that they had.
From three different directions, Drifter received a invitation to the party in the form of flying lead.
There was no place on that boat for Brick to hide.
In an instant barrage of bullets, the entire wheel house of Drifter was destroyed. Bullet after bullet tore into Brick’s body as he staggered and then fell against the control panel of drifter. In doing so, his dead body fell against the steering wheel of drifter. As he fell slowly to the floor, the steering wheel spun to the right. Drifter turned and missing hitting Kelly by a few feet. Matt however had finally found her. As she was about to go under for the final time, she felt Matt’s huge arm wrapping around her waist and fighting to hold her up so her face was above the surface.
“It’s okay Kell… I’ve got ya. I’ve got ya babe. Just try to relax …help is on the way.
Kelly tried to answer him, but every time she opened her mouth, she just got more salt water. She quickly came to the conclusion that keeping her mouth shut, was probably a good idea.
With threat of Drifter, being removed, two divers from the two Coast Guard leaped into the waiting water below, a few seconds later… they had Matt and Kelly in sight.
Now Brick wasn’t dead. Oh he was close to it, but even as he lay there all shot up… like he was, faith was about to deliver one more little message to him. As he sat there bleeding to death… staring out of that wheelhouse toward the back of Drifter, he saw smoke. A lot of smoke, pouring out of the engine compartment. Then there was a small burst of flames.
Apparently one of the numerous bullets had in deed found Drifter’s engine compartment. A small hole in the fuel line of Drifter had started shooting fuel onto a very hot engine. Brick was smart enough to know what that meant. He was about to get a first hand viewing of what hell might look like.
“OH SHIT… THIS CAN’T BE GOOD!”
Just then the fuel tanks of that old tuna trawler that had gone by the name of Drifter, for so many years… exploded in one massive fireball. That was followed by two more smaller explosions. The surface of the water was littered with bits and pieces of the old boat, that rained down into the waiting waters of the Pacific Ocean.
The two divers were doing a really good job at keeping Kelly’s head above the surface as the Harbor Patrol Captain pulled his boat up along side of them. Kelly was the first to be pulled from the water. Which was only natural. The plastic zip tie was removed from her ankles just as the cuffs were. She was wrapped in a nice warm blanket just as Matt climbed his way back on board. When Kelly saw him, she let her blanket fall to the deck as she ran over to him and threw her arms around him. Matt got the signal this time as he returned the hug. She looked up at him, and Matt didn’t need a written invitation this time as he pressed his lips to hers.
A few minutes later, everyone watched as the two divers were hoisted back onto their perspective helicopters.
Matt walked into the wheel house and picked up the microphone for the radio again.
“Harbor Patrol , to the Coast Guard, you guys still got a copy on us.”
“Go ahead Harbor Patrol, this is Coast Guard helicopter Delta Tango three and four, what can I do for you Matt?”
“Hey I just wanted to say thank you for everything that you guys did for us here today.”
“Not a problem sir, that’s what we’re here for. How’s your lady friend doing?”
“Our lady friend is named Kelly, and she’s doing just fine. Thanks to you guys. .”
“Tell her anytime she wants to go for another swim, to give us a call. You guys take care. This is Coast Guard helo Delta Tango, returning to base. You guys have a nice day.”
“The same right back to you guys. Thanks again.”
Matt watched out the window as the two large orange helicopters turned and sped off towards their base.
Matt lifted the mic to his mouth again.
“Charlie… you still there?”
“Yeah Matt we’re still here. I was just about to call in a code four. “
“Copy that. It’s definitely a code four alright. Hey, tell your guys thanks. We couldn’t have done this without you guys, you know.”
“Yeah, we know that. You take care Matt and tell that pretty little lady with you that we send our best. We’ve got to fly Matt, we’re getting really low on fuel.”
“Ten- four Charlie… we’ll talk to you later. Thanks.”
And with that the LAPD chopper turned and flew off towards the City of Angels.
Matt walked back outside to where Kelly was standing as she looked at the smoldering hulk that use to be Drifter.
She turned to see him walking over to her.
“I have a question for you Matt.” she said as he walkout her and put his arm around her and pulled her into him. Kelly didn’t object as she quietly laid her head on his shoulder.
“Sure Kell, ask away. What’s your question?”
“How did you ever manage to get on board Drifter? I mean one minute you weren’t there and the next minute, there you were staring down at me.”
Matt just started laughing.
“I just decided to drop by, of course. At least I showed up, right?”
“Yeah, you might of taken a little longer then I had hoped but you do show up finally. I‘ll give you credit for that, I suppose.”
Matt turned and looked at the Captain as he walked over to where they were.
“Coffee is on if you’d care to have a cup.”
“Thanks, that sounds really good about now. So how about taking us back to the dock Captain, Kelly here needs to go to the hospital… again.”
“We’re headed there now. And if you two don’t mind me saying this, I think you two make one hell of a team. You just look natural together.” the Captain said as he turned and walked away from them.
“So we look natural together, is that what he said?” Kelly asked him.
“That’s what the man said. So partner… would you like a hot cup of coffee or not?”
“More then anything. Well maybe not anything exactly but a cup of coffee would definitely hit the spot alright.”
“Damn, don’t you ever quit?” he asked her.
“What? I don’t know what you’re talking about?”
“You’re talking about us again, as in you and I. Now isn’t that right?”
“Actually, you’re wrong Matt. I could use something to eat and a shower and some dry clothes too. But as far as you’re concerned. I already have you.”
Matt just looked at her again. Actually he liked looking at her…a lot.
“Really? And what makes you so damn sure of yourself. If you don’t mind me asking?”
Kelly turned to stand directly in front of him.
“If you’re going to stand here and tell me that there was nothing behind that kiss that you gave me a little while ago, then I’m going to call you a bone faced liar. You kissed me, I didn’t start it, you did. “
“It was a kiss. Just a harmless little kiss.” he answered back. Actually, he knew that she was right. She did have him, but he was about to admit it. Especially not to her.
“Mathew Dugan…. You’re going to stand here and tell me that it was just a kiss. A harmless little kiss as you called it. You’re either totally blind… or just full of shit. I’m not sure which either.”
“Shut up… okay. Just shut up and be quiet.” he told her.
Kelly took a step back from him.
“Oh now you’ve went and done it…”
“You talking about this?” he asked her as he pressed his lips to hers. She was like butter in his arms and she knew it. Their arms went around each others body as if they had been doing it forever. Kelly’s right foot went up into the air. Now maybe Matt didn’t know what that meant, but for Kelly, it meant a hell of a lot.

Well there you have it. A somewhat short summary of everything we've been doing. Oh, there's more of course... but, we'll save that for the next blog.
